According to Cal Fire, this was Schoenfeld’s third year with Cal Fire, with two previous fire years as a Handcrew Firefighter in the Amador-El Dorado Unit. He was recently assigned to Woodlands Fire Station in the Mendocino Unit.
“Firefighter Schoenfeld will be remembered as a motivated, goal-oriented public servant, whose exceptional physical fitness and dedication inspired those around him,” Cal Fire officials said.
At this time, Cal Fire officials ask the public to keep “Christion’s family, friends, and his CAL FIRE brothers and sisters in your thoughts during this difficult time.”
