Tower District’s first park is open

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Tower District’s first park is officially open.

The new Broadway Parque features shaded play structures, including slides and inclusive swings for children with disabilities, water-wise irrigation, picnic tables, and benches.

The 29,000 square-foot park is the only green space in Tower, replacing the old Central Police Station.

While the park was initially expected to be completed by 2022, workers officially broke ground in September of last year. At the time, Councilmember Miguel Arias said it would be fully funded by the passage of Measure P.

Broadway Parque is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and can be found on the corner of N. Broadway Street and E. Elizabeth Street at 940 N Broadway St.
