Pedestrian struck, killed on I-465 in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after a person was struck and killed on Interstate 465 on Indy’s northwest side Sunday morning.

According to the Indiana State Police, the crash happened near the 17-mile marker of I-465 just before 4 a.m.

The Indiana Department of Transportation confirmed one person was struck and killed. Police had several lanes of the interstate blocked off for hours as they gathered evidence and information.

ISP said the driver stayed on scene and is fully cooperating with investigators.

No additional information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
