CHICAGO — A 38-year-old man was killed and two others were wounded when an argument led to a shooting overnight in Humboldt Park on the city’s West Side, according to Chicago police.

Police say officers responded to a call of three people shot around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of North Springfield Avenue. Based on a preliminary investigation, police say an unknown male offender took out a gun during an argument and fired at the victims before fleeing the scene.

A 38-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Additionally, police say a 44-year-old woman was shot in the wrist and taken to an area hospital in good condition and a 28-year-old man was shot in the chest and right arm and taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police say a weapon was recovered at the scene, but nobody is yet in custody as detectives continue to investigate.
