Driver charged in deadly Bolivar County crash

BOLIVAR COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A driver has been charged after a fatal three-vehicle crash in Bolivar County.

The crash occurred on Highway 8 near Cleveland on July 30 just before 10:30 p.m.

Troopers said a 2018 Nissan Sentra was traveling east on the highway when it collided with the back of a 2013 Buick Lacrosse, which collided with the rear of a 2013 Dodge Ram.

According to MHP, the driver of the Buick, 32-year-old Torris Kinney, of Cleveland, received fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Troopers said the driver of the Nissan Sentra, 26-year-old Hayley Cumins, of Cleveland, was arrested on August 1 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury/death. She is being held at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility in Cleveland.

This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
