BOLIVAR COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi driver was killed during a two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler in Bolivar County.

The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 61 North and MS-32 just before 9:00 a.m. on August 6.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling south on the highway when it collided with a 2009 Lincoln MKZ that was traveling west on the highway.

The driver of the Lincoln MKZ, 46-year-old Vonta L. Dorsey, of Shelby, received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Troopers said the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
