32-year-old Amir Jones was arrested and charged with 2 counts of homicide after a “gun battle” occurred on the 4900 block of Kershaw Street on July 21st, 2024.
Three people were killed and six were injured when two groups of males began shooting during the neighborhood block party.
One year later, an arrest warrant was issued for Jones, and he was arrested on July 31, 2025, after the Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia executed a search warrant at an apartment where investigators believed Jones was hiding.
Jones initially refused to comply with commands, but after 30 minutes of negotiating, Jones surrendered without incident, U.S Marshals said.
“High-profile shootings will always garner U.S. Marshals Service attention. Be assured, our relentless pursuit of those involved never ceases until the perpetrators of these crimes are captured,” said Eric Gartner, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
