Meat sold in Pennsylvania recalled for metal contamination
(WHTM) — The Ada Valley Meat Company is recalling more than 1,000 lbs. of ground beef due to the possible contamination of metal pieces.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Ada Valley Meat Company is recalling approximately 1,065 lbs. of fully cooked frozen ground beef due to possible foreign material contamination.

Specifically, the firm was notified by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) that it received a consumer complaint reporting that pieces of metal were found in the ground beef.

To date, there have been no reports of injury due to the consumption of this product.

  • 20-lb. cardboard box cases containing four 5-lb. plastic bags of “Ada Valley FULLY COOKED GROUND BEEF”
    • Pack Date 5/28/25 with lot code 35156 or Pack Date 5/30/25 with lot code 35157 represented on the label

According to the USDA, this recalled product was shipped to establishments and distributors in California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

The FSIS says that moving forward, the recalled product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Consumers are also told that the recalled ground beef could bear a different establishment number on the label for further distribution and processing by other establishments, and customers should carefully review the product and label information.
