Fresh cuts, Fresh starts: Louisiana Street Barber providing haircuts to homeless residents
MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — The Louisiana Street Barber, Kelsey Holloway, cuts the hair of homeless residents in an effort to give them a new start, changing their outlook on life. But it didn’t come without some skepticism at first.

At the beginning they were kind of skeptical but once you kind of build that relationship and show the consistency that you’re gonna be there and that what you’re doing is coming from the heart you know that they depend on me every week to show up with basic needs you know whether it’s food or just or just clothing or just a hug just a prayer they know I’m coming and they know I’m gonna be there for them.

Holloway doesn’t just provide haircuts and hygiene products, she also offers Narcan to those suffering from addiction. This is to provide more stability to those in need saying she’d prefer someone have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

For those in need, you can meet Kelsey Holloway under the bridge on Desiard Street next to new York Furniture. You can also donate to Holloway’s Cash App, $carmike47.
