Man struck and killed by train on Norris Ferry Road

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Caddo Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a pedestrian fatality that happened early Monday in South Caddo Parish.

According to a release from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m. on the railroad tracks along Norris Ferry Road, just south of Overton Brooks Road, outside Shreveport.

Deputies reported that witnesses saw a man on the tracks as a train was approaching. The train attempted to stop but was unable to do so in time, resulting in a fatal collision with the individual.

The crash is currently under investigation, and the victim’s name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
