LSUS sets new enrollment record for consecutive fourth semester

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — LSU Shreveport broke an enrollment record for the fourth consecutive semester, enrolling 8,006 students.

The 2025 summer enrollment was more than six percent higher than the previous summer enrollment high set in 2024. LSUS has broken its enrollment records in every semester since Spring 2024, when it topped 10,000 students for the first time in school history.

LSUS offers accelerated programs year-round, leading graduate students to make up the bulk of the student population in the summer, with 7,140 enrolled. Undergraduate students were the fastest-growing population. The undergraduate population grew by almost 18 percent to 866 students.

The three highest summer enrollment totals in LSUS history have all taken place since 2021, and students are also taking more classes. Undergraduate students enrolled in 24 percent more credit hours this summer than they did last summer.

The University is currently exceeding recruitment and application goals for Fall 2025, and breaking the all-time enrollment record of 10,926 set in Spring 2025 is a possibility.
