Man shot, killed in near Algiers gas station Tuesday morning

ALGIERS, La. (WGNO) — A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting in Algiers Tuesday, July 29.

Around 2 a.m., the New Orleans Police Department was called to the scene in the 3500 block of General De Gaulle Drive.

Responding officer arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

No further details are available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
