This year’s “Sand In My Boots Festival,” a one-time country music event featuring chart-topper Morgan Wallen, outperformed the usual Hangout Festival.

$2.1 million reportedly was spent on hotels and condos by attendees coming from all 50 states and 19 countries. Just under $2 million was spent on restaurants and other attractions.

The festival is estimated to have a $70 million overall economic impact in South Baldwin County.

The “Sand in My Boots Festival” was labeled as a “one-year country takeover” of the usual pop music fest.

Recent city surveys showed most respondents in Gulf Shores would like to see the festival return, but with that country twang.
