Aloha woman indicted for encouraging child sex abuse in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A 37-year-old woman was arrested Monday in Aloha for her alleged role in a child sex abuse scheme.

Sharlena Jaselle Roberts-Oviatt was indicted by a Columbia County Grand Jury on 10 counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree on Thursday, according to a statement posted on the St. Helens Police Department’s Facebook page.

Her arrest was part of an 11-month investigation across multiple jurisdictions, the statement said.

Roberts-Oviatt was arrested near 18000 SW Shaw Street in Aloha after a search warrant was issued at her residence. She is currently being held at the Columbia County Jail on $200,000 bail.

The Oregon Department of Justice, Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Vernonia Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children assisted with the investigation.
