BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man accused of shooting a woman near Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in March has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder and possession of a stolen firearm.
Roland Domino, 60, was arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department in connection with the death of 58-year-old Patricia Jackson. Investigators said Domino shot Jackson multiple times following a verbal altercation in the hospital parking lot.
In court on Thursday, prosecutors stated that Domino was competent to enter a plea, but his attorney disagreed.
He was indicted on the second-degree murder charge in June. Police said he has a prior criminal record that includes convictions for forgery, simple burglary, aggravated assault, and simple battery.
A sanity hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 5 at 9 a.m.
