16-year-old killed in Carroll County crash

CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A 16-year-old was killed during a crash involving a Peterbilt truck and a car.

The crash occurred on Highway 82 in Carroll County around 3:00 p.m. on July 24.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2005 Peterbilt truck was traveling east on the highway when it collided with a 2016 Hyundai Elantra that was traveling south on Highway 17.

Troopers said a passenger in the Elantra, 16-year-old Makaylah Banks, of Coila, received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
