Rockford felon arrested on weapon, drugs charges after traffic stop
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Jermey Barfield, 32, after finding him with a pistol in his car.

Officers were patrolling near Main Street and Chestnut when they saw an Infiniti SUV speeding nearly 20 miles over the speed limit.

Authorities pulled the suspect’s car over and smelled raw cannabis when they approached the vehicle.

Police searched the car and found a pistol, cannabis and a scale in the car.

Barfield is a convicted felon, according to court records.

He is charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, manufacturing and delivering cannabis and traffic violations.
