Three injured in crash after shots fired at vehicle on I-220: JPD

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Three people were injured during a crash in Jackson after police said shots were fired at their vehicle.

The incident occurred on Interstate 220 around 5:00 p.m. on July 22.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said officers discovered a black Nissan Sentra overturned in a ditch. The occupants said an unidentified individual or individuals were following them and shooting at them.

Three people were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Brown said one of the victims had been shot.
