According to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, task force investigators reportedly saw 22-year-old Winston Pearson carrying a black handgun in his waistband near the 4600 block of Moller Road on July 17.
The department alleges that Pearson, who had recently been released from prison, was threatening individuals with violence.
Pearson was reportedly seen entering a vehicle with three other individuals, identified by IMPD as 26-year-old Ameer Davis, 25-year-old Anthony Sandifer and 23-year-old Jonathan Helm. As officers “attempted to contain the vehicle,” Sandifer, the driver of the car, fled the area.
After a short chase, the vehicle stopped and all four were taken into custody. The release said that three handguns and around 30 grams of marijuana were recovered.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision in this case, the release said.
