North Alabama man charged with manslaughter following shooting

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — A Decatur man is now facing a manslaughter charge after a shooting took place on Monday night.

According to Decatur Police, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Robin Road SW around 10:56 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased individual with a gunshot wound.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and started an investigation.

Upon further investigation, Decatur Police identified Bernabe Eguia, 44, of Decatur, as a suspect connected to the shooting.

Eguia was arrested and charged with Manslaughter. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and was issued a $100,000 bond.
