Officers said they reported to an armed robbery Thursday around 10:30 p.m. after a woman said she had been robbed.
A preliminary investigation determined that three men followed the woman home on Old Chapel Hill Road after she got money out of an ATM at the Bank of America on 851 Willow Drive. Officers said they stole her cash and credit cards before leaving the area.
Early Saturday morning, officers said they were called to a carjacking around 2:25 a.m. at 1505 East Franklin Street outside of The Siena Hotel.
Investigators said that three men stole a vehicle from two people at gunpoint. The stolen vehicle was found two hours later in Durham.
No injuries were reported in either crime.
“Investigators are working to identify and find the suspects and they are looking into any possible connections between this incident and an armed robbery Thursday night,” officers said in a news release Saturday.
