Man killed, 3 injured in South Chicago shooting

CHICAGO (WGN) – One person was killed and three others were injured after being shot early Saturday morning in South Chicago.

Chicago police said the shooting happened just before 5 a.m. in the 8200 block of South Houston Avenue.

Officers were sent to the area for reports of a person shot and found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the neck when they arrived. The man was taken to University of Chicago Hospital where he died, according to investigators.

Police said an additional three people were also shot.

A 22-year-old woman was shot in the right arm and taken to University of Chicago Hospital in good condition; a 38-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and taken to University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition; a 25-year-old man was also shot in the abdomen and taken to University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition.

No arrests have been made and CPD detectives are investigating.
