Overnight burglars caught on camera targeting 3 businesses in Portage Park

CHICAGO (WGN) — Surveillance video captured three overnight smash-and-grab burglaries in Portage Park.

According to Chicago police, all three incidents occurred in the 4600 block of Belmont Ave, as burglars broke into China Chef, La Michoacana, and New Waves Laundromat.

Date and times of the incidents include:

  • 4600 block of West Belmont Ave. on July 17 at 3:05 a.m.
  • 4600 block of West Belmont Ave. on July 17 at 3:08 a.m.
  • 4600 block of West Belmont Ave. on July 17 at 3:10 a.m.

Police say in each case, three male offenders broke the front glass door or window, and stole money from the cash registers and later fled the scene.
