Kokomo police charge man allegedly caught with child pornography

KOKOMO, Ind. — Police have arrested a Kokomo man accused of having child sex abuse material in his possession.

According to the Kokomo Police Department, 35-year-old Michael Gromek Jr. was arrested on Thursday following an investigation that was launched on July 1. He faces two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, which are level 5 and level 6 felonies.

As part of their investigation, KPD executed a search warrant on Thursday in the 3000 block of North Phillips Street. Gromek was arrested after the search warrant was initiated. Online court records do not yet reflect when he is scheduled to appear for an initial hearing in the case.
