Melissa Martin, Director of Greaux Healthy, says the goal is to take decades of research from Pennington and bring it to communities in a meaningful way. “We’ve spent over 35 years researching the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, and now we’re working to translate that into resources families can use,” said Martin.
The initiative has already launched in Baton Rouge and is active in four Caddo Parish schools. Now, Greaux Healthy is expanding efforts across the state and hopes to connect more directly with local families and healthcare providers.
