“The Marion County Senior Activity and Wellness Center provides senior adults 60 years or older with a daily meal, a variety of socialization activities, and transportation to and from grocery stores or doctor’s appointments,” said Hannah McKelvey, the center’s director.
McKelvey noted that in the last fiscal year, the center delivered more than 36,000 meals to homebound seniors in the county.
“This new vanmade possible by support from the Arvest Foundation, Twin Lakes Community Foundation, Ultimate Auto Group, and our local communityensures we can continue meeting those needs. We are incredibly grateful for this generosity,” she added.
The check was presented by Layton Lee, loan manager for Arvest Bank Northeast Arkansas and a board member of the Twin Lakes Community Foundation.
“We are proud to support the Marion County Senior Center in acquiring a new van that will greatly enhance their ability to serve the community,” said Lee. “This grant was made possible through a valuable partnership. It was an honor to be a part of a team that came together to help those working every day to improve the lives of our older residents.”
