A successful year for Arvest’s annual Million Meals campaign wrapped up recently with the north Arkansas region, consisting of Baxter, Marion, Boone, and Craighead counties, raising $114,181 for area food partners. The amount of money raised will provide for over 565,000 meals for community members in need.
On Monday evening Arvest associates presented a check of $64,034 to the staff and volunteers of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas in Mountain Home.
Jeff Quick, CEO of the food bank, says this was the biggest year of fundraising for the campaign to date.

“We’re very proud of the success of this year’s Million Meals campaign, which underscores the strength and compassion of the communities we serve,” said Scott Copeland, Regional Bank President for Arvest Bank in North Arkansas. Quick says the local region had a particularly high turnout.

The Foodbank CEO says many initiatives including Shred-A-Thon and Feed the Pack helped boost donations. The donations where so high that a common internet challenge was taken up a notch for a group of Arvest employees.

This year the Million Meals campaign raised more than $616,000 which will help provide more than 3 million meals to more than 80 food partners throughout Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas.
