Tens of thousands without power in Kansas and western Missouri

TOPEKA (KSNT) – After a night of storms in eastern Kansas and western Missouri, Evergy is working to restore power to tens of thousands of customers.

Evergy shares that it has 570 active outages in the affected area. Over 22,000 people are without power as of 6 a.m. on Thursday. In Topeka, the company reports it has 11 outages affecting over 200 customers. The company’s outages spread as far southwest as Wichita.

Evergy has stated that restoration times are currently unavailable due to the storm’s activity. 27 News will monitor the situation and update this article as more information becomes available.
