On June 20, around 6:30 p.m., officers received reports of domestic violence that happened in the 1400 block of Kingsley Drive. The woman told authorities the incident started when the suspect refused to let her leave the residence.
The situation escalated when Fish strangled and slammed the pregnant victim’s head on the ground, according to court records.
At one point during the attack, the woman was able to get away from Fish and started banging on a neighbor’s window for help, authorities reported.
The victim eventually left the scene when she was given a ride by another individual, court documents show.
The woman told officials that Fish said he was taking her car.
Fish was eventually taken into custody and booked into the Winnebago County Jail on July 16.
He is charged with possessing a stolen vehicle, unlawful restraint, aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and domestic battery that caused physical contact.
