Recall alert: Delaware County ShopRite recalls store-made ground meat

EDDYSTONE, Pa. (WPHL) — The ShopRite of Eddystone is recalling its store-made ground meat that was produced and sold on Monday, July 14, because the meat could contain small metal fragments due to a problem with the grinder.

According to ShopRite, all store-made packages of 80, 85, and 93 percent lean ground beef, meatloaf mix, and ground pork with a sell-by date of July 14, 2025, are impacted.

The supermarket said the recall only affects its location at 1568 Chester Pike, and no injuries related to the recall have been reported. A statement from ShopRite said that no other products sold at the Eddystone store are affected by the recall.

“We are advising customers who purchased any of the recalled items at the store to return them for an immediate refund or replacement,” said Maureen Gillespie, a ShopRite spokesperson, in a statement. “ShopRite is also reaching out to Price Plus® club card customers who purchased the products to alert them to the recall and provide a refund that will be issued to their Price Plus cards.”

The supermarket is asking customers to check the labels of any ground beef and pork products they may have purchased from the store and still have at home. Customers with questions or concerns can call ShopRite customer service at 1-800-746-7748 or the Eddystone store.
