Partly cloudy skies with mid-90s temps expected Wednesday in Carolinas; slight rain chance
CHARLOTTE (PINPOINT WEATHER) — This Wednesday morning starts off like most July mornings with partly cloudy skies and low to mid-70s locked in.

Winds are calm to light and will stay that way through much of the day. Look for temperatures to peak near normal as we head into the afternoon and evening. Skies will feature a healthy mix of sun and clouds as winds settle out of the south-southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

I’m only calling for a low-end pop-up rain and storm chance for Wednesday, with the main focus being towards our I-40 corridor and points north. We can expect, at best, another half inch or so in our mountains, with a low chance of a rogue shower hitting uptown and surrounding areas.

Wednesday night will be warm again as lows bottom out in the mid-70s ahead of a big warm-up heading into the second half of the work week. Highs will ramp up into the mid-90s Thursday and Friday with slightly lower rain chances for the second half of the work week.

Storm chances will increase this weekend as temperatures in the mid to upper 90s persist. We’ll stay steamy and stormy through the early parts of next week.
