Krista Bokhari files for Charlotte’s District 6 seat
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The wife of former Charlotte City Councilman Tariq Bokhari is running for the seat her husband used to hold.
Krista Bokhari filed for the District 6 seat at the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections Monday.
Tariq stepped down from his position to join the Trump Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Council members appointed Edwin Peacock to fill the District 6 seat after Tariq Bokhari’s departure, but Peacock announced before his swearing-in that he would not run again for council this fall.
