It’s part of the Revive I-70 project that includes additional travel lanes, pavement and bridge improvements and more from west of Cambridge City to the Ohio state line.
The biggest change is set for the week of July 21, when the ramp from westbound I-70 to westbound U.S. 40 is expected to close. It won’t reopen until September, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
During the lengthy closure, crews will remove the existing pavement and begin construction on the interchange. Short-term restrictions for the eastbound I-70 ramp to westbound U.S. 40 are coming in 2026.
This week, drivers will come across lane restrictions and closures along I-70. Most closures will last from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. unless otherwise noted.
A reduced speed limit of 55 mph is in place throughout the Revive I-70 construction zone. The work schedule is weather-dependent and could shift based on the conditions outside.
