Seymour man charged with molesting child after Bartholomew County investigation

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — A Seymour man has been charged in Jennings County after he reportedly molested a child multiple times following an investigation by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents filed last month in Jennings County, 55-year-old Charles Reynolds was charged with one count of child molesting, a Level 4 felony.

In April 2025, deputies with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into allegations of child molestation. According to a news release from the office, a 14-year-old said she had been molested multiple times by Reynolds when she was around 6-7 years old.

After the office completed the investigation, the release said an arrest warrant was issued for Reynolds on a Level 4 Felony child molesting charge. Reynolds was taken into custody in Seymour and was remanded into the custody of the Jennings County Jail.

The release said that Reynolds remains in custody on a $75,000 bond. The court documents state that Reynolds’ pretrial conference is scheduled for Aug. 21 and his jury trial is expected to begin on Oct. 20.
