Northeast Salem clinic offices destroyed by two-alarm fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Northeast Salem building which housed multiple health clinics was completely destroyed by a two-alarm fire on Friday, officials said.

Crews with Salem Fire, Keizer Fire, as well as the Marion County Fire Department responded to reports of the blaze in the 3800 block of Beverly Avenue NE late Friday morning.

Officials said firefighters “worked tirelessly” to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring units.

But on Saturday, authorities said that while crews successfully put out the fire, the building itself was a total loss.

The building was occupied by the HIV Alliance and Diabetes Support Services, as well as the nonprofit Oregon Health Action Campaign.

There were no injuries reported and officials said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
