Kentucky congressman injured in 'fence post driver' accident
FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky’s fourth district posted on social media around 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, that a “drunkard” hit his cattle fence earlier in the week.

“In my rush to repair it before it got dark, I shattered the bone in my thumb using a fence post driver,” Massie wrote.

He said the accident led to an exposed compound fracture of his left hand.

Despite concern from his followers, Massie made light of the injury on social media.

“Someone said at least it’s your non dominant hand,” Massie wrote. “I said ‘of course it’s my non dominant hand; my dominant hand carried out the violence on it!'”

Officials said Massie was taken to Portsmouth, Ohio, for treatment of his hand injury before emergency personnel took him to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
