Statesville man sentenced for stealing truckloads worth of goods from Maiden company

STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Jasmine Deshon Holmes, of Statesville, was sentenced to serve six to eight years in prison following his conviction for obtaining property by false pretense greater than $100,000 and continuing criminal enterprise.

The judge imposed the terms of his sentence after Holmes entered a guilty plea for his involvement in the theft and distribution of goods from a Maiden company.

The incident occurred between March 9, 2024, and May 18, 2024. The investigation began when it was discovered that two truckloads of the company’s goods had not arrived at their intended destination.

Authorities say Holmes and a co-defendant were instrumental in the distribution of the stolen goods through various trucking companies.

The co-defendant’s case is still pending.
