LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A London dad is facing multiple charges, including strangulation, after a child called troopers for help on Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, Laurel County 911 received a call from a child reporting what troopers described as a “domestic violence situation.” They were reportedly using a 911-only phone.
Trooper Scottie Pennington said that troopers had to remove a window screen and bust out a window to make entry into the home, where 36-year-old Brandon Lunsford was allegedly holding his girlfriend and children against their will.
Court documents noted that Lunsford had allegedly pushed his girlfriend down earlier in the day, injuring her knee, which required medical attention. She told troopers that Lunsford had allegedly held his arm around her neck and placed his hands over her mouth and nose so she could not breathe while telling her she was a “piece of [expletive].”
Lunsford was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, three counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and first-degree strangulation.
He’s been booked in the Laurel County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
