Bay Area’s first Hello Kitty Cafe opens Friday
(KRON) — Hello Kitty fans and ambience enthusiasts have a new place in the South Bay to frequent. The Santa Clara’s Westfield Valley Fair has unveiled the Bay Area’s first Hello Kitty Cafe.

The grand opening is scheduled to last the entire weekend, Friday, July 11, through Sunday, July 13. To celebrate the pink cafe, the first 100 guests will receive giveaways and a meet-and-greet opportunity with Hello Kitty from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the cafe, patrons can enjoy a rotating menu of afternoon tea service, freshly made mini donuts, Dole Whip soft serve, espresso drinks, and more.

The immersive setting with Hello Kitty-shaped and decorated pastries is a 2,300-square-foot space with both indoor and patio seating.

Last year, Sanrio celebrated Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary with mobile cafe trucks that traveled the nation.

In California, there are two other Hello Kitty Cafes, one in Universal City and the other in Irvine. In Buena Park, Sanrio has a Gudetama Cafe.
