Through a partnership with the City of Charleston, the Kanawha County Commission and the West Virginia Department of Tourism — Breeze Airways is introducing five new nonstop flights from West Virginia International Yeager Airport to major cities, including:
One-way flights from Yeager to Tampa will start at $49, the initiative announced.
The deal reduces air fare by 12%, makes travel more accessible to West Virginians and brings $27 million in economic output by Breeze. The partnership plans to add more cities as demand grows, according to a press release.
The partnering agencies say the initiative will help build the workforce and drive tourism into the area, further developing the economy in the spirit of Gov. Morrisey’s economic backyard brawl.
“We are thrilled that our airport continues to grow and offer additional services to the people of West Virginia,” said Kanawha County Commission President Ben Salango. “The additional flights by Breeze will be a wonderful addition to our airport and expand upon Breeze’s incredible success at Yeager International Airport.”
Breeze will use its fleet of A220s for the flights, which will start Oct. 3. You can browse flights online here.
