The Downtown Frederick partnership is especially proud of a designation from Reader’s Digest Magazine, which named Market Street one of the nation’s 20 most charming “main streets.”
Reader’s Digest says the city’s historic preservation and promotion of arts and culture are deserving of the recognition.
New business start-ups have begun calling the street home, and neighbors in the area are upbeat about the quality of life along Caroll Creek.
“There’s an event every weekend out here,” said Terrance Christy. “It’s lovely out here.”
Just this week, a new food market and convenience store opened on Market Street to complement the boutiques and family-owned eateries in the neighborhood.
