Laurel man arrested for illegal car rally in Philadelphia during Super Bowl celebrations

LAUREL, Md. (DC News Now) — A 19-year-old man from Laurel was arrested for allegedly taking part in an illegal car rally during Super Bowl celebrations in Philadelphia.

Maryland State Police (MSP) said the suspect was identified as Yariel Fuentes-Reyes.

A search warrant was executed on July 3 at his home in Laurel, where police recovered an unserialized gun. It was conducted as part of an active investigation into the illegal car rally.

Fuentes-Reyes is facing charges in Maryland of misdemeanor possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a firearm without a serial number.

Police say he is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, where he faces many felony and misdemeanor charges in relation to the car rally.
