BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Knock Knock Children’s Museum is extending its hours as it reaches the busiest time of the year. The museum sees its highest number of visitors all year in the summer as parents search for fun and educational activities for their kids.

Executive Director Christina Melton said the museum is now open for an extra day. Starting on July 14, the facility will open at 11 a.m. on all days, including Mondays. These last day for these hours is Aug. 11.

“It’s just one more day to come and test out new things, try new things, play in our fun sportsman paradise learning zones, so we just have a lot of really exciting things going on for families,” said Melton.

With education being the whole focus, parents see what their children are being taught.

“They get to learn about Louisiana too, ya know, and they take everyday items and make it their own,” said Jennifer Devall.

Just like Jennifer has her favorite parts, her kids Ben, Meredith, and Henry have a list of their favorite parts too. It includes coloring, climbing the big giant books, and going to the science museum.

Fun activities at the Baton Rouge children’s museum are planned throughout the summer. Click here to see the schedule of events.
