Rockford man sentenced for sexually assaulting a woman

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Judge Debra Schafer sentenced Stephen Croom, 45, to a total of 36 years for three counts of sexual assault.

Croom sexually assaulted a woman from Wisconsin after she felt dizzy and laid down while she was at his home.

The victim identified Croom from a photo. DNA was collected after the incident and was the same as Croom’s.

Croom was sentenced to 12 years on each count, which will be served consecutively.
