(KRON) — Michael Madsen, the prolific Hollywood tough guy actor known for working with Quentin Tarantino, has died at age 67, according to his manager. Madsen, who made his big screen debut in 1983’s “WarGames,” went on to appear in “The Natural,” “The Doors,” “Thelma and Louise,” and “Donnie Brasco.”

He was perhaps best known, though, for his tough guy turns in a number of Tarantino films, notably as the sadistic “Mr. Blonde” in Tarantino’s 1993 directorial debut, “Reservoir Dogs.” The two would go on to work together in a succession of films, including “Kill Bill: Vol 2,” “The Hateful Eight,” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

Madsen was found unresponsive by deputies responding to a call at his Malibu home Thursday. He was pronounced dead from what appeared to be cardiac arrest at 8:25 a.m., according to his manager, Ron Smith, and The Hollywood Reporter.

A native of Chicago, Madsen began his career working with the acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

Madsen was married three times, most recently to DeAnna Madsen in 1996 and fathered five children.
