Firefighters stop to help turtle along roadway in Reston

RESTON, Va. (DC News Now) — Firefighters were “shell-shocked” when they saw a turtle trying to cross the street on Wednesday.

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said firefighters saw the turtle trying to cross Sunset Hills Road near the Reston Parkway.

The crew stopped what they were doing and went to help the turtle safely get across the road.

“The grateful reptile” then continued on its way.
