Widespread power outage leaves SF's SoMa neighborhood in the dark Monday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood was experiencing a widespread power outage Monday afternoon, according to Pacific Gas & Electric’s outage map. The map indicated that anywhere between 500 to nearly 5,000 customers were without power in two parts of the neighborhood.

The area between Folsom Street and Mission Street showed a widespread outage. A few blocks away, another cluster of blocks located between Townsend Street and Interstate 80 also appeared to have been impacted.

The San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency was advising drivers and pedestrians to treat any dark track signals as a four-way stop and to exercise caution. Muni delays were also likely in the area, according to the transit agency.
