The shooting occurred around 8:28 p.m. on June 29 in the 11700 block of Sierra Road. Officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon and determined that the suspect, identified as James Martin, had been involved in a verbal altercation with a 33-year-old man in the victim’s front yard.
