AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Monday, Stephon Morson, a murder suspect, is set for another bond hearing.
He’s currently out of custody on his second $100 bond, according to online court records. His conditions include house arrest, GPS monitoring and having no contact with the family of the victim.
Police arrested Morson in November and believe he killed 20-year-old Keshawn Cage in October on Burton Drive in southeast Austin.
He’s set for a bond hearing at the Travis County Courthouse Monday. KXAN will update this story as court proceedings take place.
Court records map out the below timeline of Morson’s court activity.
“Due process is painful,” said victim Keshawn Cage’s great aunt Patricia Muse after one of Morson’s bond hearings this year. “It’s very emotional to think that the guy is going to be confined and won’t be in a position to harm anyone, and then bond is set again.”
Cage’s family has described the 20-year-old as a kind young man who loved being a new father.
