NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WHNT) — A Hartselle native has made history in the NFL, but not as a cheerleader or football player.
NFL history was made in 1948 as twirlers first debuted after Robert Olmstead formed the 49ers Majorettes. Until 2002, majorettes could also be seen at the former home of the Detroit Lions. However, this sport has been left out of teams for over two decades. Until now.
Chloe Holladay told News 19 in 2023 that she had the dream of being a University of Alabama Crimsonette at the young age of five and her dreams became reality when she first became a Crimsonette ahead of her freshman year. Before her senior year, Holladay was named team captain.
“It is just a dream come true to me. Being able to lead the team is just a full circle moment and I’m just really excited,” she said.
Since graduating from UA with a BSN in nursing in December 2024, what was she to do next? Well, Holladay told Sports Illustrated that her dream was to be in the NFL as a majorette.
“I’ve always had a dream of, and I woud love to be the first NFL majorette,” she told Sports Illustrated. “That has never been a thing before and so they only have NFL cheerleaders and I think it would be awesome to be the first ever NFL majorette.”
That SI interview was back in September 2024.

Flash forward to June 2025, Holladay took to TikTok to announce that she had become the first ever Tennessee Titan’s baton twirler.
“I can’t believe this is real life,” she said in the video.
“This is truly a dream come true. Every step, every open door, every challenege and every blessing from God has led me to this moment,” Holladay said.
She said she will be twirling alongside the Blue Crew on gamedays.
“This opportunity is a true testament to God’s grace—without Him opening the doors and guiding my steps, this would not be possible. To the Tennessee Titans, thank you for believing and welcoming me into this incredible organization. I am beyond excited to begin this journey and ~ twirl~ on the Titans this fall! Titan Up!”
